Entry for #Shoujo-Beat's Manga Cover contest ([link])
But mostly - for the lulz
This is a heart-rending girlish story about art students, their teachers, evil employers and imaginary bishies.
The main heroine, named Mary Sue, is a worthless graphic designer, and despite paying attention to her male coursemates, she draws imaginary boys all the time, neglecting her friends and skipping classes. She ends up infatuated with her own creation.
Whether Mary'd be able to escape the dream or not? Buy the manga to find out!
The main hero, named Gary Stu (the blondie), desperately seeks Mary Sue's attention. To no avail up to the 8th volume of the manga. But who knows what would happen next?
Mary Sue's best friend, Anneke, is the head of local hippie squat, and also a big fan of esoteric practices, Kastaneda included.
Nameless pierced guy is Orochimaru's copycat and Mary Sue's employer, and presumably the main villain of the manga. Or at least you should think so He withholds his emploee's wages and deals with dubious persons...
Scarfed man named Nikas is Mary Sue's tutor and an ascending star of contemporary art. He participates in every exhibition available and holds workshops for female audiences only
Violet-haired minx is the chief accountant of the Employer's business, and the red-haired tattoed girl is certainly related to some ultra-secret artists society.
And now, the most delicious thing - the tropes!
strange as it may sound, I didn't try to copy Botticcelli's Venus. Yet she retained some resemblance.
Blondie is a version of Naruto in our universe, long-haired and an artist, of all things!
The employer, as I said already, is Orochimaru in disguise^^
Nikas the tutor is Ritsu-sensei from Loveless.
Dark-haired guy is Zuko without a scar
And no, this isn't based on any real circumstances. Sincerely
Current music: Bloodhound Gang - Pennsylvania
Mediums: pencil (but of course!), ink, watercolours, font AnnaLightC.
