Punishment fits the crime? by jesterry Punishment fits the crime? by jesterry
For #communityrelations Crossovers fanart contest

Itachi Uchiha (Naruto Masashi Kishimoto) meets Rodion Raskolnikov (Crime & Punishment F.M. Dostoevsky) in the streets of Saint-Petersburg.

:happybounce: Heaven knows; I've been dreaming of drawing this crossover practically for ages! :eager:

It's just like, the perfect encounter ever:

:bulletred: Rodion muses whether he had the right to kill that lady;
:bulletred: while Itachi thinks whether he had the right NOT to kill the clan.

And this is how their absolutely opposite beliefs clash with the harsh reality their respective authors put them through.
Drama. Angst.
What could possibly be more intriguing than this? :eager:

Pretty predictable associatin, but - hey - someone had to say that...
The second part fits Itachi perfectly, thanks to zombie arc.

Очень пронзительно меня вштырило вместе со стихом...

I don't know the Russian character, but the picture is beautiful and the crossover sounds fascinating.

I KNEW IT! The moment I commented under Your Russian literature poll - I knew it! There has to be a crossover:iconnewlaplz: When I imagine Raskolnikov I totally see Itachi:eager: Their motifs so different yet suffering so alike :faint:

Lol; am I becoming too predictable? :blushes:

Anyways; glad to know that you've spotted their similarities (well; not literal similarities; of course; but the whole to kill/not to kill drama ) and could foresee this coming :aww:

(Makes me happy I'm not the only one seeing the possible interaction of these two! :#1:)

Glad I'm not the only one seeing the parallel. Now I'm reassured that it's not schizophrenia:XD: Makes me feel fluffy inside:iconcblushplz:

I'm still having other parallel in mind. The Karamazov Brothers.

Alyosha - brave, kind hearted a little bit naive young man. Inevitably likeable boy. Always trying to help others. Novice at monastery, admired his elder, Father Zosima. Sounds like Narutoand Zosima=Jiraiya

Dimitri - sensualist, self centered man and because he tries to satisfy his selfish needs often faces conflicts. Sasuke anyone?

Ivan - rationalist trying to stop the senseless suffering/pain in the world. pain->Pein->Nagato

WOW! :la: Stop tempting me into another crossover

I must say I totally agree with you about Naruto <-> Alexei & Nagato <-> Ivan parallels!!

Especially Nagato...
Ivan is my favourite of the brothers; I just squee with unholy glee everytime F.M. writes about him! :la:
And his inner drama... Oh; don't get me started on fangirling here :blushes:

..but I can't agree for the life of mine on Sasuke <-> Dmitry (or Dimitry; whatever spelling you prefer ) - I mean; Sauce is turned into a complete egocentric bastard; while Dmitry is anything but egoistic - on the contrary; he's a party-hard type of guy with a soul perhaps too kind and open (which finally destroys him; yeah!); so nothing (in my opinion; of course) could be more opposite to Dmitry than Sasuke's character.

Well; his character is pretty open for interpretations that may contradict each other; anyways :handshake:

I; however; can't suggest anyone who could fit Dmitry's role alright.... ^^;

(And don't tell anyone about Zosima <-> Jiraiya; overly religious folks might take it as a personal offence :fear:)

I know but I couldn't find anyone matching with Dimitry more than Sasuke. Maybe because this party animal part is inevitably connected with satisfying ones needs and it correspondsin my head with achieving goals . And this little "I was engaged to Ketherina but I love the other girl" reminded me of how Sauce hurt Sakura and Naruto...

Sorry. I meant no offense. I just noticed that master-apprentice part
