Entry for FanArtSociety's Beach contest

Now I think writing the AN will take half the time I spent drawing this
Happy to present you - my beloved hidden village of Sound (from Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto) on their joint summer vacation at the base in the Land of the Sea.

Guren, Kidomaru (six-hands), Yukimaru, Kabuto Yakushi, Orochimaru the Snake Sennin, Kimimaro Kaguya, Sasuke Uchiha, Zaku Abumi.

What on Earth is going on:
The main subject here is Suigetsu's and Karin's rivalry
Sui promised her he'd scare Orochimaru with his surf jump, and Karin is to the rescue.
Although initially Sui was just going to freak Karin out, but then I remembered Sui didn't like Oro-sama that much... Why not playing a little prank - Kabuto and Kimi are his guards anyways.

Jirobo, Juugo and Kidomaru were playing beach volleyball, until...

... until clumsy Kidomaru smashed the sand castle Guren and Yukimaru were building. No one should envy Kidomaru, he's now the (still) living incarnatoin of the awesome Ramones' song "All Screwed Up"

Guren is activating her crystals to encase the unlucky spiderman into a beautiful pink gem. Oh, Guren, one of my favourite fem characters in the show

Yukimaru was building a castle. Because he always wanted a place to call "home". So Guren suggested they'd better build it themselves.

Kabuto is giving Orochimaru-sama his evening beverage

Kimimaro-my-love is the ideal guardian. Nevermind the snakes (you wouldn't would you?), they're all Oro's sweet little sentinels

Sakon (or is it Yukon?) is enjoying Tayuya's music. So are Dosu and Kin - with a braid I couldn't resist but draw, awww

Zaku is teasing Sasuke, because I intentionally made him younger

You know, what Sauce is doing? Yeah, he's trying voodoo technique, of all things! Drawing Itachi on the sand and slashing the image with kunai. Oh creative jutsu!

Yes, the net is made of notes, that symbolize Oto.
I'm so happy I've managed to finish it on time! Incredibly happy. Oro-sama needs his beautiful August, after all!
Plus, I've always wanted to depict unfairly forgotten minor characters - the Sound Four and Team Dosu. That was a great opportunity to do so
